Front Entrance Access Protocol
Nelson Mandela School’s official entrance for pupils and families is through Spark Green Park. Access to the front entrance on Colville Road is restricted and may only be granted under specific circumstances.
Eligibility for a Front Entrance Access Pass
Front entrance access may be approved only by the Headteacher and solely in the following situations:
- Exceptional or extreme circumstances, where an alternative entrance is not suitable.
- To support a parent, carer, or pupil with a disability that makes access through Spark Green Park difficult or unsafe.
All requests must be submitted through the school office and will be considered on an individual basis.
Pass Conditions
- Passes may be time-limited depending on individual need.
- Passes are reviewed every September and may be renewed, amended, or withdrawn at that time.
- Access is strictly for drop-off and pick-up at the Reception area only. Parents must not proceed to any other part of the school building.
Misuse of Passes
To keep all children safe and protect access for those who genuinely need it:
- Any abuse of the pass, including sharing it with others or using it outside agreed times, will lead to revocation.
-
Illegal or unsafe parking on Colville Road will result in the pass being withdrawn immediately. Parking on the zig zags outside the school between 8am and 4pm is illegal.
